A Heart That Waits

Waiting is a posture of expectation, a stance of faith, and a demonstration of trust. It is a deliberate choice to pause, to linger, and to await the fulfillment of a promise or the arrival of a blessing. In our fast-paced world, waiting is often viewed as a hindrance, a pause in our otherwise busy lives. We wait in lines, in traffic, and in queues, often with a sense of frustration and urgency. I recall a personal experience where I had to wait for a ride to work, and it took longer than expected. As I waited, I was tempted to take matters into my own hands, to seek an alternative solution, and to take control of the situation. But as I waited, I realized that the delay was not a hindrance but a learning experience for me.

“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalms 27:14. This verse is a timely encouragement to trust in God’s sovereignty and timing. When we’re faced with uncertainty and temptation to take control, this scripture reminds us to pause, breathe, and recalibrate. Knowing who we’re waiting for (our Heavenly Father) and what we’re waiting for (His perfect plan) changes our perspective. It shifts us from frustration to faith, from anxiety to anticipation. As we navigate life’s twists and turns, let’s hold onto this truth: God’s delays are not denials, and His timing is always perfect. In any area of our lives where we have taken matters into our own hands, let’s stop, pause, and remember His faithfulness.

✝️May we receive grace to wait with patience, expectation, and trust, knowing God is working all things together for our good. 😊
