Contentment: The Greatest Asset

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings, name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain:

Count your blessings, name them one by one;

Count your blessings, see what God hath done;

Count your blessings, name them one by one;

Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

Hymn

Contentment is about embracing the present and appreciating what we have, rather than constantly craving more. It is a state of inner peace and satisfaction of the present moment. In a world that constantly tells us we need more to be happy, it’s essential to align our views with Scripture’s perspective on contentment as believers “Be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬b NIV‬‬. This scripture reminds us that a grateful heart and the knowledge of God’s presence are the greatest treasures we can have.

Take stock of what God has given you – good health, loving relationships, opportunities, and experiences. Focus on the blessings you’ve received, rather than what’s lacking. Cultivate contentment and find peace in God’s faithfulness. When we live with gratitude and trust, we’re empowered to make a positive impact, serve others, and live with purpose. Let’s shift our focus today to what God has already done in our lives and trust His provision for our future.

✝️ May we cultivate a heart of contentment today🙇‍♀️🥰
