Ever noticed how people who throw their whole heart into something often achieve their goals? It’s not just reflective – science backs it up, showing that wholehearted effort is a key driver of satisfaction and success. But what’s even more remarkable is the unwavering faithfulness and love of God, which isn’t dependent on our actions or shortcomings. The Scripture beautifully captures this truth: God loved the world so much that He gave His Son, so that we might be saved and enjoy eternal life with Him. If God’s love isn’t based on our performance, then what’s the best way to live out His commands? Surely, it’s by embracing them wholeheartedly, with sincerity and passion, as an expression of our gratitude for His endless love and mercy.
As Colossians 3:23 reminds us, ‘Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.’ This principle calls for a wholehearted approach in all aspects of life – in our conversations, relationships, work, and experiences – with the ultimate goal of glorifying God. To live this way, we need to let go of resentment and bitterness, embracing forgiveness and grace instead. When grief weighs us down, we should seek the Lord’s healing touch on our hearts, so we can spread hope and joy. Even when our efforts go unappreciated by others, we must pray for the grace to continue doing what God has called us to do, trusting that He sees and rewards our faithfulness. This is the path to living a life that truly honors Him.
